Happy New Year 2013!

I'm writing this one while everybody's busy preparing the celebration for the coming year later. Actually, I'm hearing fire crackers and party songs here and there and laughter as well at this moment. It feels as though new year has come already because of the noise. And sometimes it can be annoying. Well, such is life  at this times. I just have to keep on track and focus. Well, this is much better compared to the world's end anyway. So, it really deserves a party after all. And good thing we survived the Mayan Prophecy otherwise, there won't be a year for us to wait. Makes me wonder now, will there still be another prophecy of the same event after all the prophecies that did not happen?

Anyway, since a new year is coming, I thought of sharing what happened to me on 2012. But to be different, why don't I just share the actions I will prioritize for the coming  year instead? Hmmm...at least it's different on my own point of view.

So, why don't I begin it with me being nationalistic. :-)

Stock Market Investments

It's all over the news - the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) Index is reaching all-time high levels almost every day. If you're in the Philippines and you're not feeling it, I think there's something you're not doing. I'm not actually going to brag, but I'm already a Stock Market investor at a young age that's why I'm feeling it. Don't  spoil it by disagreeing. I just feel really young. Ahh..the feeling! :-)

Actually, it's one of the greatest blessings I received since my stocks are all going well and for sure it will continue to prosper in the coming years. (I think that's what you've been missing if you're not feeling the economy prosper-because you're not investing in the stock market). And since the purpose of that investment is for my retirement, I will continue to commit myself on investing consistently. I will make sure that I will continue this act regardless of the economy's condition. My Passion

This coming year 2013, I will keep on improving my drawing style through constant practice, specially on mastering coloring techniques as well as discovering my own art style. But I believe that it's not enough that I admire them, I should also follow their path and their actions on making this world a better place.

Keep Learning

Finally, I will keep on learning things that will help me become a better person -spirtiually and financially. Be better in online/offline business, be better and eventually be the best in my core gift, be better in finance and investment, etc. After all, business and entrepreneurship has been an interest of mine since I was young until today which I have to brag that I am still young. Therefore, I will follow my mentors for sure to keep on learning.

In all honesty, those are just the few of the action plans I have this 2013, but it would not fit in here if I add them all. So, just to sum them all up, my 2013 will be much better than 2012! Hopefully, yours as well.

Late on the month of May, I received an email update about the current condition of the stock market. It’s quite some time since I had my last post in this blog. Unfortunately, I had to stop for a while because I’ve had quite some problems (computer and internet problems) which made me incapable in creating even a single post. What’s worse is that it also badly affected my online job as I was forced to work in an internet café for days. Though I manage to carry on the job, I realized that my productivity was clearly affected that I missed to update this blog for weeks. You see, by not doing such simple task, you’re increasing the risk of less productivity which could lead you in losing money. But by just simply doing a simple system check like running a virus scan even once a week or once a month, you’re keeping your computer safe from harmful attacks by viruses and malwares, etc; and your job would be put out at stake.

Have back-ups-Being prepared is always a good thing to do. And what better way to do it if you’re working from home than having back-ups like a laptop or net book for your computer. So let’s start in setting up Local Fund Transfer.

Setting up Local Funds Transfer is a 1-step activation process. Others find this method unreliable at first due to the errors they have encountered while doing the process. But actually, providing your correct information is the only way to avoid any errors in setting up Local Fund Transfer.  All you need is your bank's head office BRSTN code, account number and account holder information. Just make sure you qualify, then gather your bank account details and follow these directions:

4. Then press the Set Up Bank Account button the in Actions column

5. Enter your bank's head office BRSTN code (9 digits)

7. Under the “Bank Account Holder Information”, provide your account name and address. This must match the information on file with the bank. The name on the bank account must match your oDesk account.

8. Name mismatches can lead to delayed or failed payments so make sure to review the details you provided.

9. Click the Add Withdrawal Method button and the bank account will become active in three days.

A lot of people have been asking questions about working at home as a Virtual Assistant. And most of the time they jump into conclusions because it’s unknown to them.

What I can’t help noticing is that these misconceptions are actually stopping them from entering the world of virtual assistants. I can tell, because I was once in that state before. And sad to say you’re missing a good opportunity if you’re interested in making money online because of these false thoughts.

So to break these common misconceptions, I’ve listed some of these to help you understand more about working at home as a VA.

Let me start with this…

It’s all Typing Job- It’s what I used to think about working at home. But my thoughts about it changed after I educated myself. So consider the pros and cons.

How to Write an Effective oDesk Cover Letter?

Aside from building a great odesk profile, writing an effective odesk cover letter is one of the most important things you need to consider if you want to land a job in odesk. Mess it up once and you’ll see yourself letting go of a job. But don’t get bothered with that. Instead, focus on how to impress an employer with your cover letter since it’s your only shot to shine. So my first tip to write a cover letter is to make sure you read through the entire job description. It is important that you understand what the employer needs. And once you have an idea of what’s needed in the job description, that’s the time you start.

*Oftentimes, job postings do not show the employer’s name. So, a great way to set a professional tone is to say “Dear Hiring Manager”.

*If a name is indicated, you can plainly say “Dear Mr. Sanders” or “Dear Mr. Adam Sanders”. 

*Also consider those names that are gender biased like “Taylor” for example. You might think it’s a name of a man but actually woman.
